Three questions for Richard and Catalina Fandiño, founders of Picnics, events and cool rentals.

Times have changed a lot lately. That’s why our main goal is to give a twist to those beloved gatherings that we all miss. We give our customers the flexibility to choose between old and new ways to celebrate, always following the guidelines and making safety our top priority.

Why did you start your business?

2020 has been an abnormal year because of the Covid, which has caused us to change our normal lives. It had been a while since we thought about getting into organizing events, but due to Covid we couldn’t get started. People took a break from parties, events and gatherings and we knew it was not the right time to start our business. People couldn’t leave their homes, and if they did, they would only go to open spaces nearby. It was the same for us. This is how we started to experience all of the amazing parks Connecticut has to offer.

Unfortunately, not many people use them or even know about them.

We realized that if times were different now, we had to be different too. This is how our luxury business “Cool Picnics and Events” was born – to give people the opportunity to celebrate and come together in small groups while helping them experience all of the parks Connecticut has to offer.

We get really excited whenever a client asks us to help them make their ideas and dreams come true – this includes birthdays, weddings, anniversaries, engagements, baby showers, etc. There is no idea that we cannot make this a reality.

What is your best-selling product / service?

Our bestseller is the picnic and “luxury” main table decoration. We are very focused on giving the best service to every customer.

Have you “reimagined” your small business?

Cool Picnics and Events was born out of a need for adaptation and it is constantly adapting. This has allowed us to grow and we will continue to grow by adapting to the needs of consumers. Right now, we offer luxury picnics, event decorations and party rentals for all occasions. We continue to work to grow.

We are passionate about what we do because we love to see our customers happy.
