Single Family Rentals in Progress by Howard Hughes

HOUSTON – (Realty News Report) – The Howard Hughes Corp. — the developer of some of the nation’s largest planned communities, including The Woodlands in Houston and Summerlin in Las Vegas — is developing its first Build-To-Rent single-family community.

Howard Hughes Corp. announced that construction is underway for Wingspan, a 263-home build-to-let neighborhood in Bridgeland, an 11,000-acre planned community in Houston’s northwest area.

The BTR development, called Wingspan, will provide tenants with the best amenities and lifestyle offerings within the planned community. Located on 27 acres in Prairieland Village, the first residents will move into Wingspan by summer 2023.

Arch-Con Corp., a Houston-based construction company that builds multifamily and commercial properties, is constructing the Windspan BTR project.

Wingspan will offer a mix of attached and detached single-family homes, including casita-style homes, townhouses and duplexes. Inspired by modern farmhouse design, the homes will feature one- to four-bedroom floor plans ranging from 650 to 1,700 square feet as well as private yards and garages in some units. All Wingspan homes will have a back yard that will include maintenance and will be gated for private and secure access.

“By adding Wingspan to our diverse housing options in Bridgeland, Howard Hughes is meeting the unwavering demand for turnkey homes with all the benefits that come with living in the planned community,” said Travis Guinn, Vice President, Vertical Development. for The Howard. Hughes Corporation. “Created for tenants looking for a lockdown and vacation lifestyle, Wingspan offers another attractive option for those who want connectivity to hundreds of acres of green space and access to top-ranked schools as well as in-demand retail and dining destinations. ”

The Build-To-Rent sector has grown rapidly over the past two or three years as investors have been attracted by its promise of large returns. With rising house prices and rising mortgage rates, buying a home has become a challenge for many families.

BTR single family homes offer tenants the yards and conveniences of living in suburban planned communities.

Zoned in Cy-Fair ISD – a premier school district in Texas – Wingspan is conveniently located directly south of 22-acre Lake Chrysalis, surrounded by nearly 40 acres of forest and grassland, with direct access to Grand Parkway. Additionally, Wingspan will offer exclusive on-site amenities that include a pet park, playground, swimming pool, state-of-the-art fitness center and covered outdoor areas with grilling stations.

“Wingspan will be managed by the multi-family division of Howard Hughes, ensuring tenants and neighborhood residents consistently enjoy the highest quality Bridgeland is known for,” Guinn said.

Prairieland Village is Bridgeland’s third village, adding approximately 7,000 residential sites to the famous planned community.

Shares of The Howard Hughes Corp. are traded on the New York Stock Exchange under the symbol HHC.
