United Rentals Announces Trench Safety Training Series

United Rentals, Inc. has announced a series of online trench safety education events in support of Trench Safety Stand Down 2022, which runs June 20-24. The free training sessions will promote awareness of trenching and excavation hazards and improve understanding of work practices that can help jobsites be safe and productive.

Trench Safety Stand Down is a national initiative to reinforce the importance of working safely in and around trenches and excavations. Employers are encouraged to review with employees the hazards associated with trenching and excavation work, the regulations surrounding it, and work practices to ensure their safety and that of their co-workers.

“Working in trenches and other excavations is one of the most dangerous activities in construction, but safety measures and regulations are in place to make most trenching accidents preventable,” said Blake Smith, Sales and Marketing Manager, Trench Safety Region at United Rentals. “Creating a strong culture of trenching and excavation safety not only mitigates risk, but can also improve site productivity. Companies that invest in training workers in safe excavation practices find that their projects are completed more efficiently and safely. »
